HDC to Transfer Gulhifalhu Management to Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has initiated the process of transferring management of Gulhifalhu in Kaafu Atoll to Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC).
FDC confirmed that it is actively handling the transition, which includes exchanging necessary documents and engaging in detailed discussions. The corporation also stated that all agreements related to Gulhifalhu will undergo a comprehensive review as part of the process.
Despite the transfer, the Cabinet has decided that FDC will remain a subsidiary of HDC. Consequently, FDC will assume responsibility for all social housing projects, aligning with the government's broader housing strategy.
Gulhifalhu is a key component of the nation's housing initiatives, with a significant portion of its land designated for addressing housing shortages. Land allocations under the Binveriyaa Housing Scheme, introduced by the previous administration, are expected to be made from this area.
This transition marks a significant step in restructuring the Maldives’ housing sector, aiming to streamline operations and enhance housing development efforts across the nation.
