The Maldives and Tajikistan have officially formalized a visa-on-arrival agreement, which will enable citizens of both countries to benefit from a 30-day visa-free travel. This development marks a significant step in facilitating easier travel and fostering closer connections between the two nations.
The agreement was signed during a meeting held in New York, with Maldives’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ali Naseer Mohamed, representing the Maldives, and Tajikistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Hikmat Jonibek Ismoil, signing on behalf of the Tajikistan government.
This newly formalized agreement builds upon the existing unilateral visa-free regime that has been in place, streamlining travel procedures for citizens of both countries.
