Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal stated that the Maldives' recognition with the prestigious "World Leading Destination Award" and "World Leading Green Destination Award" at the World Travel Awards was achieved as a result of the policies implemented under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The minister said this in a post on "X" Monday. The minister said the awards were given to Maldives because of the President's policy to develop the tourism industry in a sustainable manner. The minister said he was proud to receive the awards during his tenure as President.
The Minister added that Maldives has won the award through the hard work of many people. The Minister said he was honored to have the opportunity to receive the award.
Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal received the award on behalf of Maldives at this year's World Travel Awards ceremony held in Madeira, Portugal.Maldives won the award against 18 countries.
It is also the fifth consecutive World Leading Destination Award for Maldives .
