A cyclone in the eastern Bay of Bengal is expected to turn into a strong cyclone, the National Meteorological Department (Met Office) said on Tuesday.
Met office states that The cyclone is expected to move northwest towards the coast of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
In addition to the cyclone, another cyclone has also formed in the southeast of Maldives, Met office said. Therefore, winds are expected to be generally strong over the next five days from Wednesday.
Winds will be between 15 and 25 mph in the southern atolls and between 13 and 23 mph in the northern and central atolls
The Met office has also warned that seas will be rough in all parts of the country.
