Tourists arrive at Velana International Airport.
The number of tourists arrived from Russia has reached 200,000 so far this year.
According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, the number of tourists from Russia reached 201,497 as of the 23rd of this month making it the second largest market.
China tops the list. China has so far received 248,141 tourists, accounting for 13.8 per cent of the total.
According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, a total of 1,797,028 tourists have visited maldives so far. That is a 9.2 percent increase from the same period last year.
According to the ministry, 1,456,183 tourists visited maldives during the same period in 2022 as against 1,646,327 tourists during the same period last year.
A total of 1,242 tourism destinations are currently operating in the country. These include 171 resorts, 902 guesthouses, 155 safaris and 14 hotels. These facilities operate 62,690 beds for tourism
