Land from Hulhumale' Phase II has been officially handed over to beneficiaries under the 'Binveriya Scheme,' fulfilling President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's promise that all recipients of Phase II would receive their plots by the end of October. A total of 1,407 plots have now been transferred to the recipients.
The previous administration initiated land allocations from Phase III, issuing 699 plots from an undredged area. To address this issue, dredging for Phase III is set to commence in November, as confirmed by Minister of Housing, Land, and Urban Development Dr. Ali Haidar.
In total, over 5,000 plots were allocated by the previous government, and the current administration remains dedicated to continuing dredging efforts to support these allocations. This initiative is part of the government's broader commitment to enhance housing availability and urban development in the Maldives.
