Maldives Deputy Speaker Ahmed Naazim held discussions with Zhou Naixiang, Governor of China’s Shandong Province, during the Global Ocean Development Forum, stressing the need for international cooperation in safeguarding marine ecosystems. Both officials highlighted the critical importance of addressing sea erosion and its impact on coastal communities. Naazim thanked China for its support and participation in the forum, underlining that protecting marine environments is a shared responsibility. Minister of Fisheries Ahmed Shiyam also attended the meeting, reinforcing Maldives' commitment to oceanic conservation.
