Maldives Showcased at TTG Travel Experience 2024 in Italy by MMPRC

The Maldives is making waves at the TTG Travel Experience 2024 in Rimini, Italy, as the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) represents the island nation in one of Italy’s biggest travel trade events. Taking place from the 9th to the 11th of October, the event sees MMPRC promoting the Maldives as a premier travel destination in collaboration with 64 representatives from 25 companies.
TTG Travel Experience is the leading travel trade event in Italy, gathering key international tourism operators, including tourism boards, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, and accommodation providers. Italy has historically been a significant source market for the Maldives, making MMPRC’s presence critical in maintaining and strengthening the country's position as a top destination for Italian tourists.
At the Maldives' stand, MMPRC is engaging in a range of promotional activities aimed at enhancing the destination's appeal. These include face-to-face meetings with travel agents, tour operators, and media representatives, offering a platform for Maldivian tourism partners to present updates on their properties and services. This direct engagement is expected to boost the Maldives' visibility and attract more Italian tourists.
The importance of the Italian market is underscored by the fact that, as of October 1, 2024, Italy has contributed 106,946 tourist arrivals to the Maldives. To build on this, MMPRC has been employing a range of promotional strategies, including influencer and media familiarisation trips, as well as digital campaigns targeting the Italian market. Upcoming initiatives include the "Discover Maldives Webinar Series: Italy Edition," which will further solidify the Maldives’ position as a favored destination among Italian travelers.
MMPRC's participation in the TTG Travel Experience underscores its ongoing commitment to strengthening the Maldives' presence in key tourism markets, with Italy continuing to be one of the most significant contributors to the country’s thriving tourism sector.
