Maldives Inflight Catering General Manager Dismissed Over Fraud Allegations

Maldives Inflight Catering (MIC) has terminated the employment of its General Manager, Steve Ng, following serious allegations of financial misconduct. The dismissal comes after an internal investigation conducted by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), which uncovered a series of unauthorized financial decisions made by Ng that reportedly caused substantial losses to the company.
The administrative probe, initiated by MACL, revealed that Ng had violated company policies by engaging in actions detrimental to MIC's financial health. While details of the investigation remain confidential, sources within MIC confirmed that Ng's actions included several breaches of corporate governance protocols, leading to his dismissal.
In the wake of Ng's termination, MIC has swiftly appointed a new General Manager to oversee operations and ensure that the company moves forward without further disruption. The identity of the new appointee has not been disclosed.
Maldives Inflight Catering is a key player in the nation's aviation services, with a 65% ownership stake held by MACL. The remaining 35% stake is held by Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS). The partnership between MIC and SATS has long been a vital component of the Maldivian tourism and aviation sectors, providing high-quality inflight catering services for both international and domestic flights.
