MP Ahmed Azaan Accuses Former President Ibrahim of Involvement in Fenaka Corruption Scandal

Hithadhoo Central MP Ahmed Azaan has made serious allegations against former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, claiming his deep involvement in the corruption scandal surrounding Fenaka Corporation. Speaking before the Public Accounts Committee on Monday, Azaan referred to a report by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) that outlined the irregularities and corruption within the state-owned enterprise.
Azaan asserted that the ACC report included recommendations for addressing the issues identified in the investigation. However, he criticized the previous administration for failing to act on these recommendations or to provide clarifications to the State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Committee of Parliament.
"It is clear that none of the actions recommended by the ACC through their report have been implemented," Azaan stated. "This negligence not only perpetuates corruption but also implicates President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the Fenaka scandal."
Azaan further emphasized that President Ibrahim's failure to address the ACC's recommendations, which he believes contributed to the ongoing corruption within Fenaka Corporation, should be thoroughly investigated.
The accusations have intensified the ongoing scrutiny of Fenaka Corporation's operations, raising concerns about the potential involvement of high-level officials in corruption during the previous administration. Azaan's statements are expected to prompt further inquiries into the matter, as the Public Accounts Committee continues its investigation.
