Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, announced that the Cyber Security Agency will be operational within the next six months. The announcement came in response to a question posed by Hithadhoo Central MP Ahmed Azaan during the 241 Committee of the Parliament session today.
MP Azaan inquired about the agency's extensive mandate and its timeline for fulfilling its responsibilities. Minister Ihusaan responded by outlining the steps currently underway to ensure the agency's timely launch.
"We are collaborating with external partners to revamp our systems, procure necessary equipment, and provide training for our personnel. The CEO responsible for managing the agency has been interviewed and recruited," Minister Ihusaan stated.
He added that efforts are being made to finalize the CEO's appointment and prepare the agency for operations within the next month, with full service expected to begin within six months.
