Revenue Surged from Jet Fuel Sales

Jet fuel sales have experienced a substantial revenue increase this year, according to the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) Economic Update for May. Revenue from jet fuel re-exports surged in April 2024.
This rise in jet fuel sales revenue coincides with an uptick in flight movements at Velana International Airport (VIA). The number of international flight movements at VIA reached 5,982 by the end of April this year, compared to 5,841 in the same period last year, indicating a positive trend in both aviation activity and related fuel sales.
