China's Parliamentary Standing Committee Chair Congratulates Maldives Speaker Abdul Raheem

Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, has sent a congratulatory message to Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Speaker of the Maldives Parliament.

In a post from the official X account of the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives, Chairman Zhao expressed his readiness to work closely with Speaker Abdul Raheem to implement key agreements between the two countries and to further strengthen bilateral relations. "In this message, we will continue to work together to implement the important agreements agreed upon by the two countries and work together to strengthen the friendship between the two countries and to promote friendship between the National People's Congress and the Parliament of China," Zhao stated.

He emphasized his commitment to enhancing the broad Strategic Cooperative Partnership between China and the Maldives, aiming to build a Sino-Maldives community with a united future. The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, as the permanent body of China's national legislature, exercises the powers of the National People's Congress when it is not in session.
