Parliament to Establish Special Housing Committee

The ruling Progressive National Congress (PNC) parliamentary group has announced the establishment of a special housing committee, which will be added to the list of parliamentary standing committees. This decision aligns with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration's priority of addressing housing issues.
Ibrahim Falah, PNC leader and MP for Inguraidhoo, confirmed in an interview with an online newspaper that the party has decided to create a dedicated committee focused solely on housing matters. This move reflects the party's commitment to tackling the housing challenges faced by citizens.
The creation of the housing committee follows the recent swearing-in of the 20th Members of Parliament, marking the official commencement of parliamentary proceedings. The house has requested that political parties and independent members submit their nominations for committee appointments by Sunday.
The establishment of this special committee underscores the PNC's dedication to addressing one of the key areas highlighted by President Muizzu's administration, aiming to improve housing conditions and policies across the nation.
