President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is making strategic changes to several government positions to improve governance, according to his spokesperson, Heena Waleed.
Heena Waleed addressed these changes during a press conference held by the President's Office. The recent restructuring comes amid a wave of resignations and removals of high-ranking government officials.
Among the notable changes, Fathimath Taufeeq (Kudi) was removed from her position as Managing Director of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC). Similarly, Ahmed Samah Rasheed was removed from his role as Managing Director of the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), and Ahmed Zuhoor was dismissed as Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
Additionally, Ayesha Noorain Janah, who served as the chairperson of MMPRC, has resigned from her post.
These moves are part of President Dr. Muizzu's broader effort to enhance the effectiveness and accountability of government operations, as he seeks to ensure that key positions are filled by individuals who can best contribute to the administration's goals and the nation's development.
