President Dr. Muizzu Has No Spirit of Political Revenge: Minister Shareef

Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar has said that the President's government has no intention of carrying out any acts of political revenge.

Minister Adam Shareef said this while addressing a meeting with the people of Feali this afternoon during President Dr. Muizzu's official visit to Faafu atoll.

Shareef said one of the President's biggest promises is to eradicate the spirit of political unrest and revenge in Maldives.

The minister said that President Dr. Muizzu has faced major challenges in the past, and that has happened within the Parliament.

“However, you will see today that by this point, there are no longer any obstacles, challenges or difficulties for politicians; he has opened the door for politicians to say whatever they want, even if it is blasphemy and lies,” he said.

Minister Shareef said the reality today is that President Dr. Muizzu has no spirit of revenge. He also said that the President will not repeat the story of the former rulers or do the same damage that has been done to the country by those rulers.

“People talk about it, but they say it's the past. Let's think about the future. We want to hopefully move forward with the people.”

The President is determined to eliminate the spirit of revenge and bring peace to the country, he said.
