108 Vehicles Removed from Malé City to Reduce Congestion

The Ministry of Transport has removed 108 vehicles so far as part of its program to remove unused vehicles from the roads in the Malé City and Hulhumalé.
The Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with other relevant agencies, launched a program to remove illegally parked vehicles from the roads of Malé City and Hulhumalé on 17th of this month.
The ministry said 52 vehicles were removed from the roads in Malé and Hulhumalé last week alone as part of its efforts to find an immediate solution to ensure road safety.
A total of 108 vehicles have been confiscated so far.
The Ministry of Transport is working to remove unused vehicles from the roads. The program will be conducted in two phases.
The first phase will include removing parts of vehicles that have been left unused for a long time, opening the opportunity to volunteers to dispose of vehicles, towing vehicles that have been parked for a long time and removing unregistered vehicles.
