Addu Mayor Ali Nizar has expressed his belief that the President will build a bridge connecting Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo in Addu.
Speaking at a meeting with the people of Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo in Hulhudhoo, Mayor Nizar said the bridge should be built to change the perception of investors coming to Addu.
"The bridge is needed to change Addu, to change the mindset of the people of Addu, and to change the mindset of investors," Mayor Nizar said.
Nizar added that he does not dare to talk about the Addu Bridge. President Dr. Muizzu will build the bridge, and he gets that assurance because the President says he will do it with great confidence.
“I believe that the President will do it. At yesterday's council meeting, the President says with such confidence that the bridge will be built.”
The Mayor said the responsibility of the councils is to cooperate in the implementation of government policies. He is trying to put aside political ideology and work with the government.
“We have decided that the council should give the greatest cooperation in the implementation of the policies brought by this government for the people of Addu,” Nizar said. He was elected on the MDP ticket as the Mayor of Addu City.
Nizar said the council will do what it needs to do. The President’s government is doing everything in consultation with the city council.
