Expatriates who arrived before 4th January can pay Work Permit Fee without Medical

Foreigners who entered Maldives before January 4th this year will be able to pay their work permit fees through the system without submitting a medical examination, the Home Ministry said today.
Workers who have arrived before the 4th of this month will be issued work permits under the Entry Pass by submitting their application through the Medical Expat System. Foreigners who have entered Maldives after that date will be able to pay the work permit fee upon submission of a work permit medical.
The Home Ministry today said that employers are facing difficulties in obtaining work permit medicals for foreigners who entered Maldives before the date due to the mandatory medical fee.
Therefore, foreigners who entered Maldives before January 4 will be able to pay their work permit fees through the system till July 4, 2024, without submitting a medical application, the ministry said.
The ministry said action will be taken against those who have not submitted their work permit medical by that date.
