Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has appointed Major Hussain Rasheed as its new information officer. The announcement was made yesterday, following the departure of the previous officer, Captain Hanna Mohamed, who left the country to attend a course.
As the information officer, Major Hussain Rasheed will be responsible for disseminating information about the armed forces to the media. It is important to note that no officer of the armed forces is allowed to share any information about the MNDF with the media on their own initiative or personal capacity. The post of information officer will be held by a designated officer of the armed forces, or by an authorized representative from the Integrated Headquarters in special circumstances.
The role of the information officer is critical in maintaining the transparency and accountability of the armed forces. Major Hussain Rasheed brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this position, having previously served in various capacities within the MNDF.
