Minor Hotels is set to open its inaugural Avani branded property in the Maldives on 1st April 2023. The 176-key resort will be the company's sixth property in the country, reinforcing its presence as a prominent player in the Indian Ocean destination.
The upcoming resort, Avani+ Fares, will be situated on Fares Island, one of only 61 islands within the marine protected waters of Baa Atoll's UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. A mere 35 minutes from Velana International Airport, the resort aims to "unlock paradise" through various accommodation options.
Guests can select from beach pool villas, four-bedroom beach pavilions, and spacious three-bedroom overwater villas that stretch across the island's turquoise bay at the Avani+ Fares resort.
William Costley, Senior Vice President of Operations for Asia at Minor Hotels, said, "As the first hotel opening in the area for more than three years, Avani+ Fares will continue to showcase Avani as a pioneering hotel brand, filling a void in the Maldivian hotel landscape."
The opening of the Avani+ Fares resort marks a significant milestone for both Minor Hotels and the Avani brand, as it bolsters their standing in the Maldives hospitality sector. Given its prime location and diverse accommodation choices, the new resort is anticipated to draw a considerable number of tourists, boosting the country's tourism industry.
In recent years, Minor Hotels has actively expanded its portfolio in the Maldives, with the Avani+ Fares resort being the newest addition. The company maintains a strong presence in the Indian Ocean destination, with other properties such as Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort, Naladhu Private Island Maldives, Niyama Private Islands Maldives, and Veligandu Island Resort & Spa.
