A second term of this administration unbearable: Muizzu

The Mayor of City Council Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated that a second term of this administration will be unbearable and therefore, the helm of the country must be handed over to former President and opposition leader, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Qayyoom, in the coming presidential election.
Speaking at an event held at the PPM headquarters, Muizzu said that the country lost five years of progress and development at the hands of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and that the economy was in a drain.
Referring to one of the biggest projects, the Thila-Male Bridge project, taken on by the government, Dr. Muizzu stated that the administration cared very little about the progress of the project. Noting the instability of the pillars and platforms, he added that development has also gone with the wind and tides much like the parts of the bridge.
Dr. Muizzu remarked that 70 percent of the work for the Sinamale bridge was complete by 2017, the fourth year of President Yameen’s administration. However, he stated that not even one percent of the work has been completed in the Thila-Male’ bridge within these last four years.
Dr. Muizzu stated that considering national and religious interest, a second term of this administration will be unbearable. He said that to save the country, President Yameen must be elected for 2023.
As the presidential election draws near, the opposition has chosen President Yameen as their candidate to represent the opposition coalition. Even President Solih has declared his interest in running for candidacy ticket of MDP, to run for a second term.
