Chief Inspector of Police Rilwaan Shareef was appointed as the first Maldivian police officer to join the Interpol, an international organization that facilitates worldwide police cooperation and crime control.
Officer Rilwan received the document drafting him at the Interpol Headquarters in Lyon, France, at the hands of the Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed, today.
Executive Board Officers of Maldives Police Service, along with National Central Bureau Officers have congratulated Rilwan on his achievement.
CP Hameed stated, in a tweet, that Rilwan’s secondment demonstrated the MPS commitment to international police cooperation and resolve to battle against global crime.
CP Hameed had previously noted that MPS initiative to join hands with the Interpol will add to the police experience and help MPS strengthen their efforts towards fighting crime.
