Miuvaan amends financial statements after proof of deception

Miuvaan Mohamed, the government spokesperson at the President Office, has amended and republished his financial statements after proof of falsification.

According to Miuvaan’s financials published on the President’s Office website earlier, he claimed to have had no trade proprietorships and he had earned MVR 45,000 over the last 6 months in business profits. Despite Miuvaan’s declarations to the contrary, he had a business, Whiteston Media, registered under his name. Furthermore, a news outlet by the name of “Kaafu News” was also registered under Miuvaan’s Whiteston Media since October 2018.

When TMJ wrote an article with proof of his deception, he has now withdrawn the previous financials, amended and republished it today to include Whiteston Media as one of his proprietorships.

Miuvaan is a former news reporter at Raajje TV, where he had been an active enthusiast of spreading propaganda. Furthermore, he has continued in kind after accepting the post of spokesperson, attempting to mislead the people with lies.

The issue of President Office officials releasing falsified financials has been recurrent.
