Money raised through “Help Pakistan Telethon” handed over to the High Commission

Funds of MVR 3.8 million raised through the “Help Pakistan Telethon” organized by the Pakistan Maldives Friendship Association (PMFA) in collaboration with some Maldivian media outlets to help the people of flood-ravaged Pakistan, have been handed over to Pakistan.
The initial 12 hours of the telethon brought in over a million Maldivian Rufiyaa. The President of PMFA, Masoodh Imad, said that the cause received MVR 3.8 million in donations within the first 18 hours of the telethon.

The telethon ended at midnight on October 1.

The funds raised for the cause was handed over to the Pakistani High Commissioner to the Maldives today, at a ceremony held at Dhivehiraajjeyge Adu.

Fund boxes to collect donations were placed all around Male’City as well as in the islands.

While the climate disaster has caused multiple fatalities and affected even more people, this is one of the biggest calamities that befell the Pakistan residents.
