The Chinese government has gifted 3000 street lights to the Male’ City Council.
The generous gift was handed over to Male’ City Council by the Chinese Embassy in a special ceremony held this morning at Male’ City Council.
Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Lee Jin handed over the items to Mayor of Male’ City, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
In his speech, Muizzu said that the generosity of the Chinese government contributes to ensuring the safety of the residents of Male City’ by upgrading the old and low quality street lights to better and high quality LED lights more fitting to the modern day street needs.
Muizzu stated that China has been one of the biggest contributors to developmental projects that directly benefits the Maldivian people and remain visible reminders of a true friendship founded on mutual respect and trust.
Muizzu had expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude towards the generosity of the Chinese government for their continued friendship.
