President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided to travel to the United Kingdom to attend Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
President’s office Spokesperson, Miuvaan Mohamed said that the president is scheduled to leave to attend the Queen’s funeral in England.
Queen Elizabeth died last week, on Thursday. Her funeral is set to take place on Monday of the following week and several world leaders are expected to attend.
The royal family has requested these leaders to keep their party small in number to avoid overcrowding the funeral halls. Furthermore, the castle has asserted that although world leaders and their spouses may attend the Queen’s funeral, no one else will be allowed at the funeral.
The administration has yet to reveal the dates and itinerary of the President’s travel.
