Travel expenses at MVR 137 million, an increase of MVR 56 million

The government spent MVR 137.3 million on travel expenses this year.

According to the statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the administration has spent MVR 137.3 on travel expenses this year, which is MVR 56 million more than last year’s MVR 80.9 million.

The budget approved for the year on travel expenses is MVR 203 million.

The government spends a large portion of funds on travel expenses each year. Even last year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and other senior members of the administration have gone on multiple diplomatic trips.

Unsurprisingly, the president had previously claimed his love for traveling to other countries.
