President’s Office has denied the claims made by Parliament Speaker on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Late on Friday evening, in a message to ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) National Council, Speaker Nasheed alleged that he had photos of President Solih and a woman, engaging in sex. He said there were four photos of the President.
In the group, Nasheed had asked if the photos should be shared with Maldives Police Service (MPS).
In response, Meedhoo Constituency Member of Parliament Rozaina Adam had urged Nasheed to share the pictures in the Whatsapp group. Nasheed is yet to share the pictures.
In the ensuing war of words, Parliament Deputy Speaker, Eva Abdullah also made an accusation against the President. Eva asked whether the President had not engaged in extramarital affairs and alcohol consumption.
Nasheed, Solih, and Eva have close familial ties.
This latest volley of attacks came after Nasheed’s brother, lawyer Nazim Sattar was arrested. Sattar was arrested after videos of him engaging in sex with another man. He was remanded for seven days.
