President’s Office has removed a part of the speech given by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The redacted speech was published on President’s Office website.
The speech in question was delivered on Wednesday evening, where the President announced that a hospital and other health services were to be established in second phase of Hulhumale’. In his speech, the President said that Hulhumale’ Development Corporation (HDC) had already put the projects for bidding.
‘The government intends to open three clinics and three pharmacies to provide health services in Hiyaa flats in Hulhumale’ second phase. In addition to that, two additional hospitals and other health services are to be created, with HDC to place the project on bid,’ he said.
This was reported on state media, Public Service Media (PSM). President’s Office had called PSM and removed that news from all reports from the media. Sources had reported to TMJ that the reason given for removal was as it was not a statement given by the President.
The speech on the President’s Office website was also amended – the first version had the report on hospitals.
TMJ has been able to ascertain that this administration has no plans to develop health services in phase two of Hulhumale’. Additionally, HDC has announced no biddings to that nature.
