Aeroflot has resumed direct flights between Male’ and Moscow.
Flights between the two destinations were halted on March 8th, following the hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
Discussions between the Maldives and Russia had resulted in Maldives giving assurance that Russian flights will be catered to at the main airport, Velana International Airport.
Air fare between the two destinations vary between US$ 447 and US$ 1,000. The maiden flight on Saturday brought in 296 passengers.
Maldives Civil Aviation Authority assured that there was no change in air travel agreements between the two countries.
