Officials of the Maldives Police Service currently visiting the United States have met with representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
At the meeting with the FBI, officials of the MPS discussed matters pertaining to counter-terrorism and international operations.
Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdul Mannan Yusuf, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohamed Riyaz participated in the meeting with the FBI.
The delegation from the Maldives Police Service had also met with the Maldivian Foreign Minister, United Nations General Assembly President Abdullah Shahid.
Approaches to improving the capabilities of the Maldivian police were discussed. Similarly, possible ways to co-operate with the American government to improve Maldivian policing capabilities were also discussed.
