The government has spent more than MVR 16 million on travel expenses.
As per statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the State has spent MVR 16.9 million on travel expenses between 1 January and 24 February 2022.
MVR 11.6 million had been spent during the same period last year.
A total MVR 203 million had been allocated towards travel expenses in this year's budget.
Many officials of the Solih administration had made several trips abroad in the past year at the cost of several million rufiyaa. President Solih, prior to winnin the 2018 election, had stated on a RaajjeTV interview that he liked to travel.
