Bangladesh's Chief of Army Staff Gen. S. M. Shafiuddin Ahmed
Bangladesh's Chief of Army Staff Gen. S. M. Shafiuddin Ahmed has arrived in the Maldives on the invitation of Chief of Defence Force Maj. Gen. Abdullah Shamal.
Gen. Ahmed's visit to the Maldives will last three days, and he would meet with Defence Minister Mariya Didi. He would also conduct a bilateral meeting with Maj. Gen. Shamal, as well.
He is also scheduled to meet with high-ranking officers of the Maldivian military, and engage in discussions on improving military relations between the two countries.
Bangladesh's Chief of Naval Staff M. Shaheen Iqbal had visited the Maldives last month. He had engaged in discussions on improving maritime security within the region.
