Govt Spends MVR 7.2 Million On Travel This Year

The government has spent MVR 7.2 million on travel.

According to statistics made public by the Ministry of Finance, the government has spent a total MVR 7.2 million between 1 January and 3 February this year. MVR 5.8 million had been spent during the same period last year.

MVR 203 million has been budgeted for travel this year; several millions had been spent on travel last year.

President Solih and several officials of the government had made several visits abroad.

Prior to his inauguration, Solih had said on an interview with RaajjeTV that he enjoyed travelling.

At the time of this writing, President Solih is abroad.
