Indian nationals will now be permitted to travel to the Maldives without a visa.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Indian nationals who were entering the Maldives for business purposes would no longer require a visa.
The Ministry had announced that these measures were implemented as part of the Agreement on Facilitation of Visa Arrangements signed on 28 December 2018.
As per the agreement, Indian nationals who were traveling to the Maldives for business purposes and would stay for a period less than 90 days have been permitted to enter the country without a visa since the beginning of this month.
The Ministry said that such Indian nationals would be granted multiple-entry business visas, within 6 months, valid for a period of 90 days. Indian nationals with approved business visas would be allowed to renew the visa for an additional 180 day period.
