President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have concluded their personal trip to Sri Lanka to celebrate the new year, and have returned to the Maldives today.
The President and the First Lady had left for Sri Lanka on 30 December. The President and the First Lady had, similarly, travelled to Sri Lanka for the beginning of 2020, as well. It is probable that they choose to travel to Sri Lanka as their relatives reside there.
President Solih has made several official and personal trips abroad since he took office.
In 2021, President Solih had travelled abroad for the UN General Assembly in New York, the Dubai Expo, and the COP-20 Summit in Scotland with a large delegation.
