Maldivians Certain Of India's Role, And Should Not Call For India Out: Nasheed

Speaker Mohamed Nasheed had said that Maldivians were not confused about India's role in the Maldives, and that Maldivians should not call "India Out".
He mentioned this in a statement posted on his official Facebook and Twitter platforms.
In his social media post, Speaker Nasheed had neglected to specify what exactly India's role in the Maldives was or should be, as per his opinion. It is noteworthy that Speaker Nasheed had called upon India to launch a military intervention in the Maldives in 2018.
In addition, he had stated that Maldivians cannot call for "India Out". Officials of Speaker Nasheed's government have begun blatantly defending India's meddling with the internal matters of the Maldives ever since opposition leader, former President Abdullah Yameen, had decided to intensify the "India Out" movement.
The former President Yameen recently went on tour of some of the islands of Kaafu Atoll to gain support for the movement. Speaking to a crowd in Guraidhoo (Kaafu) late last week, he had reiterated his statement that the Indian military must leave the Maldives.
