Exclusive: Dhiyares To Publish Luthfy Statement

TMJ has acquired an audio statement prepared by Abdullah Luthfy regarding the attack that he and “Sagaru” Nasir had; with the support of a small army of Tamil fighters; helped launch against the Maldives on November 3, 1988.

Luthfy had prepared the statement in Sri Lanka in the early part of 2018; after he had escaped from Maldivian custody after he had been allowed to travel to Sri Lanka for medical treatment during the Nasheed administration of 2008-2012.

Luthfy has since been returned to the custody of Maldivian authorities. His statement had been shared with Dhiyares by a source close to Luthfy, at his request.

Dhiyares will live stream the unedited audio statement via Facebook Live on November 3, the thirty-third anniversary of the attack.
