Police Conduct Awareness Program for Hiyaa Flat Owners

Maldives Police Service has initiated an awareness program for owners of Hiyaa flats.

While police have declared the area as a separate zone and begun patrolling, they have launched a program specifically for Hiyaa flat owners in order to create awareness and caution in relation to criminals. Police have revealed that the program is to be conducted by the Hulhumale’ Neighborhood Support Officers and the Crime Prevention Unit.

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is to assign inspectors as security for the Hiyaa flats, and CCTV is to be installed soon.

While the area currently has a great quantity of expensive equipment for the flats’ finishings, many have been working round the clock to finish the work. There have been several reports of stolen equipment.
