Former President and Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed stated that although he has not been attending Parliament, he has been taking his pay regularly.
Speaking at the news conference which was held today Nasheed had said that he is not a person who has a side job and without the salary daily needs cannot be met.
Nasheed also said that there are members who don’t attend the parliament sittings for many days.
After the May 6th Attack, Nasheed has been receiving treatment abroad and has not returned. However, Nasheed does not seem to be in a hurry to return to the Maldives.
