Fenaka Staff Who Welcomed Opposition Coalition Asked to Stay Home

Fenaka Corporation employees at Faresmaathodaa who welcomed the team of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) leaders currently visiting the Gaaf Dhaalu Atoll have been informed to stay home by the company.
Vice President of PPM and parliament representative for Naifaru constituency Ahmed Shiyam tweeted today that Fenaka has terminated several employees who welcomed and shook hands with the PPM delegation upon their arrival in Faresmaathodaa, Gaaf Dhaalu Atoll.
Shiyam divulged to Dhiyares that later that night, Fenaka informed the youth who greeted the PPM team to stay home.
One of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s 2018 campaign pledges was that staff must not be discriminated against in the workplace for supporting or partaking in any political activities against the government.
However, President Solih assumed office, state-owned companies have penalized numerous employees for criticizing the government.
