Minister Requests Termination of Islamic Ministry's Permanent Secretary

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir has requested for the termination of the Permanent Secretary of the Islamic Ministry Abdul Haseeb Ismail.

Haseeb has shared a segment of the minister’s letter on Facebook. The letter read that it will be difficult to run the ministry if Haseeb is not terminated.

Dhiyares has been informed that the ministry’s civil service staff have lodged numerous complaints in relation to the conflict with Haseeb. Several difficulties for the staff caused by Haseeb have also been revealed.

According to the Islamic Ministry, the minister has requested Haseeb’s termination due to the harsh treatment of staff. Additionally, the minister believes Haseeb’s presence will hinder the ministry’s service to the public.

The ministry’s former permanent secretary was replaced following conflict. The former PS has also presented the issue of his termination to the parliament.
