Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is active on scene upon the discovery of a remote control car in the Supreme Court's vicinity.
The remote control car has put MNDF on alert near the Supreme Court. Officers have begun strengthening security measures in the area.
Images show that the small remote control car has been modified. MNDF has seized the item.
The Bomb Squad has been active on the scene, but MNDF has yet to confirm whether the car has an explosive attached or not.
After the May 6 terror attack on former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed, security forces have been strengthening safety measures.
Police have also arrested a man for claiming to be in possession of an explosive near presidential palace Muliaage. Another arrest was also made regarding a man threatening to bomb parliament.
MNDF has yet to make a statement on finding the remote control car near the Supreme Court.
