MIRA Collects 1.19 Billion in June

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) declared they have collected MVR 1.19 billion.
State tax administration MIRA claimed it received a 3.2 percent increase of the projected amount for the month of June.
Income this year is a significant increase compared to last June. Income received this year is 326.2 percent more than income received last year, said the authority. MIRA observed that tourism and other industries faced significant losses during the COVID-19 lockdown last June.
The majority of MIRA's income the previous month was from Goods and Services Tax (GST), with MVR 529.38 million, which was 44.6 percent of its income.
The second-largest source, Tourism Land Rent, provided MVR 369.53 million, which was 31.1 percent of the authority's income. MIRA also received MVR 94.80 in income tax, MVR 59.90 million in green tax, MVR 30.34 in airport development fees, and MVR 106.64 in various other taxes and fees.
Additionally, MIRA revealed that their total income included a sum of USD 54.98 million.
