South African Journalists to Advertise Maldives

Three South African journalists were brought to the Maldives to help promote tourism.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) stated the trip was intended to display the Maldives as a safe travel destination and showcase the measures taken to ensure the well-being of tourists regarding COVID-19. They claimed that the journalists would help promote tourism in the Maldives through their respective magazines.
The reporters visited Finolhu, Dusit Thani Maldives, and Hurawalhi. The Maldives welcomed 3,624 South African tourists by June 2. A total of 457,747 tourists have visited the country this year.
