President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed concern and sadness regarding the state of COVID19 in neighboring country India.
The President posted a tweet yesterday stating that he was deeply saddened and concerned for our neighboring country India as they are currently battling with a new and very dangerous wave of COVID19 and expressed solidarity with Indian nationals.
India’s helping hand towards other countries in overcoming COVID19 difficulties must be noted. India had also helped Maldives start it’s vaccine program and donated 1 lakh COVISHIELD vaccines to the Maldives.
Despite this, due to the state of India currently an issue with the transportation of vaccines to other countries may have a small rift.
As COVID19 spreads in India at a very fast rate, just yesterday a record number of citizens were positive. There are currently 18 million and above cases in India and over 200,000 deaths have taken place.
