A number of boats that had been fishing illegally in Maldivian waters have been placed under the Coast Goard of MNDF.
Coast Guard boat “Huravee” spotted this boat near the EEZ area patrol according to the institution.
The five boats were taken in to remand 30 nautical miles outside Meemu Atoll and Vaavu Atoll.
The five boats were operating while maintaining a certain distance from each other and they were taken in some time during the hours of sun rise.
MNDF further revealed that preparations are underway to transport the boats to Male’ area and it is estimated that the boats will reach shores by the afternoon tomorrow.
This case is being investigated joint-authority wise by the government.
