Progress Will Not Be Hindered, We Will Lead in Bringing Progress: Dr Muizzu

If any of the PPM candidates for the upcoming Local Council Elections were to succeed, they would not hinder or interfere with any of the government's progress plans but would rather take the lead in bringing forth that progress, said Dr Mohamed Muizzu, PPM's mayoral candidate for Male City Council.
Dr Muizzu added that PPM's candidates would have their finger on the pulse of the people. PPM's ideology was a patriotic ideology, he said. He clarified that the PPM's ideology strove to clear away all the challenges posed to sovereignty and the Islamic faith in the country.
Dr Muizzu said that PPM's candidates would conduct themselves with integrity, and they would co-operate with the citizens to solve the problems of the islands and the cities. Dr Muizzu noted that the greatest challenge faced by the residents of Male City is housing. Dr Muizzu said that the PPM would provide the technical expertise required to solve the problems of the lagoons of the Greater Male Area.
In addition, Dr Muizzu said that the PPM would work together with the government to help solve the housing crisis faced by the country. Dr Muizzu said that the housing crisis can be permanently solved.
Dr Muizzu posed the question as to why the Gulhee Falhu project was being put to purposes other than that of housing. He said that the people desired the Gulhee Falhu project to be used for housing, and he said that people elected to public office should have their finger on the people's pulse.
Dr Muizzu said that he would strive to solve such problems in the future.
Dr Muizzu said that the Male City Council's prior inability to provide economic opportunities for women and youth is not a reason that such opportunities cannot be provided in future. Dr Muizzu said that he and his colleagues at the PPM indeed possessed the technical expertise required to provide such opportunities.
He said that the Local Council posts required important work. He said that it was up to the people to select the people that were the most skilled and eligible for the positions. He said that while he served as Housing Minister under the Yameen administration, he had constructed harbours in 127 islands, he had laid 97 kilometers of road, and had reclaimed land in 16 islands.
He said that the candidates of the PPM were not in the business of hindering the government. Dr Muizzu said that President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom had taught PPM members forward-thinking, and to work hard and quickly to bring about progress. He said that he would be fair in providing services to all citizens, irrespective of their political allegiances.
