DNR Employee Positive for COVID-19, Work Halts

An employee of the Department of National Registration (DNR) has been found positive for COVID-19.

On the employee's diagnosis, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) had ordered for all of the DNR's operations to be temporarily put on hold until the HPA gave further instruction.

The DNR said that once work resumes, it would be in accordance to HPA guidelines. The number of positive COVID-19 cases has recently begun to rise in the Maldives. The number of positive diagnoses per day is currently above 100. 145 were found to be positive yesterday.

The total number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed 15,247. 13, 916 have recovered and 93 are currently being treated in hospital. There have been 51 COVID-related deaths so far.
